The Team

Dr. William H. Bayer

William H. Bayer, M.D. founded Jefferson Family Medicine, P.C. in 1992. Dr. Bayer graduated from Princeton University cum laude in 1975. He went on to medical school at Harvard University and graduated in 1979. Dr. Bayer attended his Residency at the University of Rochester from 1979 – 1982. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Dr Bayer has a long history of dedicated service to those who are underserved by the medical community. His service began with a trip to China in 1972 to teach birth control methods and after his residency, he went to Saint Lucia for a year of service. His dedication continues today with the many programs he is involved with to help his patients with health education and prevention.

Dr. Bayer is currently affiliated with a number of organizations including the National Kidney Foundation, American Diabetes Association, Jefferson Avenue Business Association, Southwest Area Neighborhood Association, Monroe County Medical Society and Monroe Plan, a Rochester based Medicaid HMO. Dr. Bayer has been awarded many honors by these organizations. Most recently, Monroe County Medical Society awarded him their highest honor, the Edward Mott Moore Award for his dedicated community service.

Dr. Bayer speaks English, Spanish, Chinese and Patois.

Dr. Mark A. Brown

Dr. Brown graduated from Brown University as valedictorian in 1985. He went on to Cornell University Medical School and graduated in 1989. He completed his residency at Highland Hospital Family Medicine in 1992.

Dr. Brown has a long history of commitment to the medically underserved. He recently returned

from the Dominican Republic where he spent the last 6 years founding the Dominican Medical Mission, an international relief organization that provides quality healthcare to impoverished people in the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Brown is fluent in English and Spanish.
